History The year 1915 saw the beginning of Lutheran services in the city of Boonville, Missouri. Pastor J. Mueller of Lone Elm and Pastor K. Lohrmann of Clarks Fork, with the assistance of professors from St. Paul's College, Concordia, MO, conducted services in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Schnack. In 1921 Mr. and Mrs. Herman Schnack purchased the "Wooldridge Estate" at 314 Chestnut Street and later sold it to the congregation. The first Pastor serving our congregation was Rev. Carl Ehlers of Marshall, Missouri. Services were held twice a month from 1915 until 1918. During the pastorate of Rev. Ehlers, a congregation was organized in Boonville, June 20, 1916. The charter members signing the first constitution were the following: Herman Schnack, August Vick, William Bargen, (these three being the first Elders of the congregation), E.J. Muntzel, H.T. Manion, M. Bittner (the first Trustees), and August Schroeder. On June 20th, 1916, the congregation was organized as a Mission Congregation. The second pastor in charge was Rev. William Karsten, also of Marshall, Missouri. He conducted two services a month in Boonville from 1918 to 1920. The first regular resident pastor was the Rev. Alfred L. Grewe, who served the congregation until 1926. This same year the Rev. George Klattenhoff was installed as pastor and served until 1931. During his time a Christian Day School was opened with 17 children attending. The school was taught by the pastor. Rev. George Fleiss came in the year 1931 and served the congregation until 1934. During Rev. Fleiss' stay the congregation became self sustaining. Rev. Daniel R. Ludwig served Immanuel from May 1934 until September, 1941. It was during his time that the chapel was remodeled. Rededication was on the 30th of July, 1938. During this period the Day School was closed due to the small enrollment. It had served the congregation well for eight years. Rev. H.A. Rehwaldt was pastor from January, 1942 until August, 1945. Rev. W. W. Soeldner served the Congregation from November, 1945 until January 1952. Rev. Lambert J. Wyssman served from May 1952 until May 1954. It was during Rev. Wyssman's time that the possibilities of building a new house of worship and school was studied, but did not materialize. Rev. Daniel DeBlock came to Immanuel from St. Paul's College. He was ordained and installed to serve our congregation June, 1954. Rev. DeBlock encouraged the renewing of studying the need for new and larger facilities both for worship and education. The first step was purchasing of the home on 4th and Chestnut, using it for parsonage and Sunday School rooms. With his leadership a Building and Planning committee was created by resolution of the voters assembly. Rev. DeBlock accepted a call, Nov. 1960 to serve the congregation in Lawrence, Kansas, both as pastor and student pastor for the Lutheran students attending the University. Rev. C. Rodger Meyer, served Immanuel from June 1960 until November 30, 1961. The Rev. Walter Dierking was installed on Sunday, May 20, 1962. The Building and Planning Committee having made several important steps prior to his arrival, under Rev. Dierking's leadership, moved progressively forward toward its ultimate goal for a new House of Worship and education facilities. The Rev. Michael Trinklein was installed as pastor on June 26, 1977, and served Immanuel Congregation until 1983. The Rev. Douglas Morton served as pastor from 1985 - 1994. December 20, 1987 saw the groundbreaking for a three level educational wing. This new addition was dedicated on October 9, 1988. The Rev. Randy Asburry was pastor of Immanuel congregation and served from August, 1994 until December, 1998. The Rev. Jerry Riggert was installed on June 3, 2000. Pastor Riggert took a call to Lutheran Senior Services in June 2006. Our present pastor, Rev. John Roach was installed on January 21, 2007. Immanuel has also been blessed over the years with additional called workers:
